This Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Hotel review will help you decide if the resort is a good choice for your family to stay during your Disneyland Paris trip.
My family stayed at the Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Hotel for our first trip to Disneyland Paris and it was an awesome place to stay!
We are a family of five and finding accommodations that comfortably fit all of us is not always easy, especially at the Disney parks. At times we need to book connecting rooms or pay more for larger spaces.
At the Disneyland Paris Newport Bay hotel they offered affordable accommodations to fit our family of five that was within walking distance of the Disneyland Paris theme parks.
Read on for my Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Hotel review for what to expect when staying there and if it is a good choice for your Disneyland Paris trip.
Overview of Newport Bay Hotel at Disneyland Paris
The Newport Bay Hotel is a 4-star hotel. It is a nautical themed hotel within walking distance to the Disneyland Paris parks. The 1920s New England inspired mansion has touches of Mickey and Minnie throughout and set along the shores of Lake Disney.
From the hotel lobby to the Nantucket pool this seaside resort is a perfect place to stay during your Disneyland Paris vacation.
Newport Bay Hotel is located in Chessy France. This is a short train ride outside of Paris.
We arrived by Eurotrain from England, this trip was part of our Unique 12 Day London Paris Itinerary with Kids, and then took the train from the station to the Disneyland Paris station.
There is a station directly on Disneyland property. It is relatively easy to get to Disneyland Paris just look for signs to Disneyland Paris and take the correct train. We got a little mixed up figuring out which train to take but usually there is someone around to ask.
Once on-site there is a free shuttle bus to and from the resort to Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios park. If you prefer to walk it is a short 15-20 minute walk.
Newport Bay Hotel offers on-site dining, standard and concierge level rooms, as well as an indoor pool and an outdoor pool.
A quick note: The Disneyland Paris resort is home to 7 on-site Disney hotels. They are Disneyland Hotel, Disney Hotel New York-Art of Marvel, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, Disney’s Newport Bay Hotel, Disney Hotel Cheyenne, Hotel Santa Fe, and Disney Davy Crockett Ranch.
Rooms at Newport Bay Hotel at Disneyland Paris
Disney’s Newport Bay resort rooms offer great accommodations for families. The Superior Room category offers lake view rooms, terrace rooms, and family rooms. There are also club level rooms available at the compass club level suites.
We stayed in the Superior Family Room. This was much more spacious than I expected. It had 2 double beds and a sofa bed that fit my family very comfortably.
There was a small table, bathroom with a bench and closet space, and a safe. You may need a European travel outlet convertor for your trip. For the one we liked check my amazon affiliate store for a 2 pack European travel adaptor.
The rooms have a TV with American and International channels, Nespresso maker, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi.
This was our first time to Disneyland Paris and I had heard stories about how the A/C in Europe is not the A/C like the United States.
This was mostly true. There was A/C but it was not adjusted in our room. It seemed to have a cap on what you could set it on. We did open the windows at certain times, but we just had to get used to the difference.
It is one of those things across Europe that is different when traveling from America. I also had to adjust my coffee consumption but that is another story!
Disneyland Paris Compass Club rooms offers concierge level services. There is a Compass Club lounge, a private reception area, breakfast & tea included, and a presidential suite available. We didn’t stay here but expect this to be more expensive that the standard rooms.
Overall the Nautical and subtle Disney theme in the rooms were cute. I liked the space we had for the 5 of us and it was a good option for our trip.
Dining at Newport Bay Hotel at the Disneyland Paris Resort
Dining at Newport Bay Hotel was not my favorite but we didn’t try anything either. Let me explain.
The Newport Bay Hotel has two main dining options. They are the Yacht Club and the Cape Cod restaurant. The Yacht Club is a table service option and Cape Cod is a buffet restaurant. Both require reservations. There is also a bar on-site called Captains Quarters.
We prefer casual dining during our Disney trips. At times we will make reservations for a special meal. We did one sit-down dining at PYM Kitchen during this trip, but overall we try to save money by dining at quick-service type restaurants.
There was no quick-service options at the Newport Bay Hotel and that was a bit disappointing when we wanted a quick bite to eat after the parks.
The positive is that Disney Village is a short walk from the hotel. You actually walk through it to get to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios. Disney Village has quick-service options that are open late.
We stopped at the McDonalds, Five Guys, and Earl of Sandwich a few times during our trip and these were great options for a quick meal.
Amenities at Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Hotel
Guests staying at any Disneyland Paris resort receive Early Magic Time. This is entrance into the park one hour before official park time. Having extra magic time in the parks was a huge perk for us.
Allowing early entry gives us more time in the park to ride everything we want. The Disneyland Paris rides and attractions are unique to the Paris park and early magic gave us time to see and do everything.
Newport Bay Hotel also has an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness room, sauna, gift shop, and Little Captains Corner. This is a small play area for young children.
Free parking is available for guests. If you want to see your favorite characters head to the hotel lobby on certain nights for character meet and greets. Ask a cast member during check-in for more information and times.
Cost of Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Hotel
I knew I wanted our first, and maybe only, trip to Disneyland Paris to be special and I was comfortable splurging a little bit to stay close to the parks. I prefer staying on-site at Disney World and I figured it would be best for us to stay on-site at Disneyland Paris.
Disneyland Paris offers a few different hotel options that fit different budgets. Newport Bay Hotel is considered in the mid-range.
Prices on the website start around $500.00 (USD) a night. Consider purchasing a package if you want to stay at the Newport Bay Hotel to get the best value. If you already have tickets and are looking for room only I found my affiliate partner to have great nightly deals for Newport Bay Hotel.
I booked a package through the Disneyland Paris website. For a Superior Family Room for 5 with 2 double beds and 1 sofa bed plus 4 day park tickets the package cost was $3329.75. (This price was for July 2023 and may have changed.)
Ultimately it is up to you to decide what is worth spending a bit more on and where you would like to save. There are many less expensive hotels around Disneyland Paris.
These properties are not within walking distance but are a short train ride away. If you would like to explore options for off-site Disneyland Paris hotels check my affiliate partner for hotels near Disneyland Paris.
Our Stay at Disney’s Newport Bay Resort
I loved staying at Disneyland Paris’ Newport Bay hotel because it made our visit to Disneyland Paris easy. We could walk over to the parks for early magic hours and spend our morning.
At lunch we usually ate in the parks and then headed back to the hotel for an afternoon swim or nap. Then we would head back to the parks in the evening.
On our departure day we checked-out and left our luggage with the front desk. Then we spent a few more hours at the parks before heading into Paris for the next part of our trip.
They will keep your luggage on check-in and/or check-out day so you can spend more time at the parks.
Overall I was really happy we decided to stay at the Newport Bay Hotel for our trip to Disneyland Paris. I would highly recommend it for families or anyone looking for a mid-range hotel at the Disneyland Paris resort.
